The purpose of this research is to characterize and evaluate the results of economic development of Poland and Lithuania. In order to analyze the changes of economic development, the index of economic development as share of sustainable development is used. Empirical analysis for the years 2005-2012 is conducted. As a result of the research - the country's main macroeconomic development indicators are unified in order to create a development index. (original abstract)
