Celem zajęcia się w treści artykułu tematyką zapisaną w jego tytule jest odsłonięcie znaczenia pojęcia "Fizyczny Internet" poprzez zaprezentowanie zasadniczych pryncypiów charakteryzujących jego logistyczną koncepcję. Realizacji tak postawionego zadania posłuży opis funkcjonujących w oparciu o ideę "Fizycznego Internetu" projektów oraz aktualny stan praktycznego zastosowania opisywanej koncepcji. Main principles of the new global logistics concept of "the physical internet" have been described in this paper. The definition of the term "the physical internet" is determined. It is reasoned the expediency of the principles of this concept in functioning of global logistics systems, particularly into the activity on the level of logistics companies. The state of projects implementation developed on the basis of this concept in Europe, USA and Canada has been provided separately. (original abstract)
