Abstrakty
EN
Organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB) are usually analyzed from the perspective of benefits for individuals, organization and social environment. The view suggesting that the motives for OCB may also lead to negative personal and organizational consequences is rel- atively rare and appears in few studies only. The aim of this paper is to describe the "dark side" of organizational citizenship behaviors. The evidence shows that there may be a com- mon area between OCB and unethical work behaviors. It also indicates that the intentions for undertaking OCB do not result solely from pro-social motives, but also from organizational and environmental pressure combined with willingness to create one's image. Moreover, it implies that the relationship between OCB and individual and organizational performance is not as obvious as some authors indicated.(original abstract)
