Abstrakty

Wynik brytyjskiego referendum z 23 czerwca 2016 r. w sprawie wystąpienia z Unii Europejskiej zaskoczył niemal wszystkich analityków i obserwatorów politycznych, ale także samych głosujących. Okazało się, że zarówno społeczeństwo, jak i część polityków opowiadając się za opuszczeniem UE nie sądzili, że do tego dojdzie. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie skutków ostatnich decyzji społeczeństwa brytyjskiego i dowiedzenie hipotezy, że premier Cameron wraz ze swoją frakcją, realizując politykę referendalną, wzmocnił i utrwalił nową linię podziału społeczno-politycznego, co doprowadziło do zachwiania stabilności nie tylko jego partii, ale i całego brytyjskiego systemu partyjnego. Skutkiem tego może być pojawienie się w przyszłości dwóch scenariuszy: albo dwubiegunowego rozłamu na zwolenników i przeciwników Brexitu, albo nawet 10-partyjnego formatu ze względu na stosunek do integracji z UE i podziału na frakcje w największych obecnie brytyjskich partiach politycznych. The result of the British referendum came as a surprise to everyone, but the British themselves seemed to be the most surprised of all. The British vote in favour of leaving the EU can be blamed for "an earthquake " not only on world markets and in European politics, but also within the major British political parties, as it is bound to exert a profound impact on their future as well as the future of the EU. The crisis following the June referendum will have repercussions for the British party system and the debate on Brexit has brought a new take on the "old" British socio-political cleavage, namely Euroscepticism.
