English is undeniably the lingua franca of science used to pass on not only research data but also discipline-specific culture and values. The increased importance of specific-purposes texts causes the need to provide English for Specific Purposes (ESP) programs at university level, which, in turn, entails the fundamentally inseparable need for the implementation of extensive ESP teacher-training programs. The importance of ESP training programs is slowly being acknowledged among tertiary educational institutions. In this interdisciplinary, cross-curricular, integrative framework, institutes of English studies may serve as a lynchpin offering ESP courses to students from various university faculties to meet their specific study and workplace environment needs.
