The purpose of this article is to conceptualize the associations between organizational routine and interfirm relationships. Based on a variety of epistemologies, including selection logic and adaptation logic, a quasi-selection logic has been proposed, linking organizational routines and relationships. In addition, the affiliation between routines and relationships from the perspective of path dependence theory, relational view, and evolutionary vein has been researched. As a result of presented studies, it has been found that organizational routines have a significant, even a dominant effect on the interfirm relationships. In addition to the main conclusions, there are following findings: (1) studying mutual impact of the relationships and organizational routines requires a multilevel approach; (2) the relevant levels of the issue analysis is the level of the network of relationships, the level of organization and the level of organizational routines, (3) at the network level the selection of the least fittest is possible, (4) developing networks of relationships causes changes in the population, a quasi-selection occurs, (5) organizational routines are a mechanism of adaptation and their role is significant for the efficiency of relationships from the perspective of a single organization (survival), but also from the perspective of the network of relationships.
