This paper presents a method for determining spatial visibility on roads. One of the factors that determines road safety is the sufficient visibility in alignment, longitudinal profile and space. The driver must look upon the stretch of road long enough for the timely stop of the vehicle or maneuver to avoid a collision with an obstacle for safe movement. Classical methods for determining the visibility do not allow for the simultaneous combination of visibility in plan and longitudinal profile. Because we have the following picture: the estimated horizontal and vertical visibility provided, but in fact there are obstacles that are visible only in space. The method for solving these problems implies consideration on the road section of both longitude inclinations and horizontal curves at the same time. It is based on the distribution of a concentrated vision of the driver, which is distributed conical view. The spatial visibility includes visibility in alignment and longitudinal profile, the direction of driver's vision is characterized by the spatial vector. Visibility is the maximum distance at which, being at driver's seat, one can clearly identify the elements of the road and disposition of road users, which allows the driver orientating oneself while driving, in particular to choose safe speed and perform safe maneuver. "Сone" method can be used in the design of roads, analysis of traffic safety conditions (cleaning of sidebands from obstacles limiting visibility at horizontal curves on the inside of the curvature or speed limitation), as well as at deciding the necessity of partial or full reconstruction of the road.
