The financial crisis that emerged in the first decade of the twenty-first century undoubtedly had an impact on the changes in the banking sector. Despite the liquidity problems of many banks in the United States and Europe, the banking sector in China is growing rapidly, and Chinese banks achieve good financial results. The purpose of this article is to characterize the evolution of the banking sector in China and the position of Chinese banks in the world in the context of the changes resulting from the global financial crisis. Particular attention was paid to the supervisory requirements resulting from the macroprudential regulations as well as the structure of the Chinese banking sector, ownership of banks and their assets, comparing the growth of the banking sector with the results of the Chinese economy as a whole measured by GDP growth.(original abstract)

Kryzys finansowy, który pojawił się w pierwszej dekadzie XXI wieku, bez wątpienia miał wpływ na zmiany w sektorze bankowym. Mimo problemów z płynnością wielu banków w Stanach Zjednoczonych i Europie, sektor bankowy w Chinach szybko się rozwijał, a chińskie banki osiągały dobre wyniki finansowe. Na uwagę zasługuje zatem ewolucja sektora bankowego w Chinach i aktywów największych chińskich banków w kontekście zmian wynikających z globalnego kryzysu finansowego. Szczególnie ważne są wymogi nadzorcze wynikające z międzynarodowych regulacji ostrożnościowych, struktura chińskiego sektora bankowego oraz kwestie własności banków i ich wyników finansowych. W tym kontekście porównano również wyniki sektora bankowego z wynikami chińskiej gospodarki jako całości, mierzonymi wzrostem PKB.(abstrakt oryginalny)
