Przedstawiono procedurę modelowania w benchmarkingu regionalnym. Zwrócono uwagę na zastosowanie podejścia dynamicznego przy wyborze wzorca-benchmarku.

The article presents a proposal of a modelling procedure for regional benchmarking. The starting point is one of the prerequisites of choosing the benchmark region, which has a higher development dynamics than the operational region (i.e. the region to be compared to the benchmark). Benchmark selection follows two paths: one is the function of trend and the other is Penrose's and Mahalanobis' measures of distance. The illustration of the proposed approach is limited to computerisation processes in the EU-member countries, Japan, the USA, and Poland as described with three variables:
• number of PCs per 100 inhabitants,
• number of mobile phones per 100 inhabitants,
• number of web hosts per 100 inhabitants.
The potential benchmarks for Poland can be two selected countries - Austria or Japan, both those countries meeting one of the eight criteria of benchmark selection. (original abstract)
