The article aims at presenting the possibilities of teaching English for speci- fic/special purposes at the academic level on the example of the University of Zielona Góra. Additionally, the purpose of the paper is to demonstrate the results of the questionnaire on teaching specialised tr anslation carried out among students of translation class. The theoreti- cal scope of the article includes definitions of specialised language and classification of texts by Jerzy Pieńkos. Subsequently, the characteristics of technical and legał translation are to be introduced. The practical part comprises a presentation of selected lessons on English for specific/special purposes with the third year MA students at the University of Zielona Góra. The examination of lessons encompasses sworn, legał and banking translations. Finally, the questionnaire on teaching specialised translation is analysed thoroughly with the emphasis on students' suggestions as to how specialised translation should be taught at the academic level. The paper ends with relevant conclusions(fragment of text)
