Abstrakty

Zjawisko procykliczności wydajności pracy jest współcześnie jednym z podstawowych stylizowanych faktów makroekonomicznych. W artykule przeprowadzono analizę zjawiska procykliczności wydajności pracy i jego determinant w regionach Polski2 w latach 1995-2013. W części teoretycznej dokonano identyfikacji wskazywanych w teorii ekonomii determinant tego zjawiska oraz krytycznego przeglądu wyników badań empirycznych w tym zakresie. Stwierdzono m.in., że czynnikami wpływającymi na występowanie tego zjawiska są: szoki technologiczne, rosnące przychody skali oraz tzw. chomikowanie pracy (labor hoarding). Analiza empiryczna polegała na ocenie zależności korelacyjnych pomiędzy wydajnością pracy (na pracownika i godzinę pracy) a koniunkturą gospodarczą w poszczególnych województwach. Uzyskane wyniki pozwalają wnioskować, że w części analizowanych województw wydajność pracy ma charakter procykliczny. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The procyclicality of labour productivity is one of the basic stylized facts of economics. The aim of the paper is to analyse the procyclical properties of labour productivity in Polish regions in the years 1995-2013. In the theoretical part, a critical analysis of the literature is used to identify the possible determinants of the analysed effect. It was found that three of them are usually mentioned: technological shocks, increasing returns to scale and labour hoarding. In the empirical part, an assessment of labour productivity procyclical behaviour was performed. The obtained results confirm that labour productivity in some Polish regions is procyclical.
