Abstrakty

Różnorodność biologiczna jest gwarantem funkcji spełnianych przez ekosystemy. Zapewniają one nam godne, zdrowe i bezpieczne życie. W nauce pojęcie usług ekosystemowych pojawiło się dopiero w drugiej połowie XX wieku. Przez wieki świadomość ich obecności była niemal nieobecna w świecie naukowym. Stanowią one dobra publiczne niedoceniane i ulegające stałej degradacji. (abstrakt oryginalny)

Biodiversity is the guarantor of functions performed by ecosystems. They provide us worthy, healthy and safe life. In science, the concept of ecosystem services appeared only in the second half of the twentieth century. For centuries awareness of their presence was almost absent in the scientific world. They constitute public goods which are undervalued and undergoing constant degradation. (original abstract)
