Abstrakty

This article reviews the directions of academic studies completed to date on the concept of organisational slack. Assumptions were proposed to carry out studies in a dynamic approach, based on material resources, monthly cycles, and four levels of intervals of the functioning assessment (loss, waste, buffer, and optimum). The object of the study is a seaport; its specific nature consists in duality of the management function: as a self-contained business entity as well as a base and a constituent of a cluster that is integrated both functionally and spatially. The proposal was verified using the example of metrics representative for a seaport - a medium-sized cluster. The presented studies are a further step to create dynamic models of management efficiency applying the resource-based view. This is a methodical article where the proposals are verified by means of the case study method. (original abstract)
