Abstrakty

W artykule przedstawiono założenia oraz scharakteryzowano główne obszary zainteresowania CSR w przedsiębiorstwach żeglugowych. Zwrócono uwagę na kwestie społecznego odbioru branży morskiej i działania podejmowane w celu poprawy wizerunku europejskich armatorów. W części empirycznej artykułu zastosowano metodę studium przypadku. Na przedmiot badań wybrano przedsiębiorstwo żeglugowe - Maersk Line. Przeanalizowano działania podejmowane przez przewoźnika w ubiegłych latach oraz przedstawiono główne postulaty zawarte w strategii zrównoważonego rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa na lata 2014-2018. Przeprowadzona analiza wskazała na główną zasadę, na której opiera się CSR - nie ma być ona dodatkową działalnością, przebiegającą obok głównego nurtu podejmowanej aktywności, której celem będzie tylko budowanie wizerunku. Zasady CSR powinny być nierozerwalnie wplecione w podstawową działalność firmy, mają być wręcz sposobem na jej prowadzenie(abstrakt autora)

This paper presents the main concept of CSR in shipping companies. The attention is paid to perception of shipping industry and actions that should be done for improving the image of European ship owners. A case study research is done. The research object is Maersk Line. The main achievements to date and aims from company's sustainability strategy for 2014-2018 were analysed. The analysis shows that the main principle of implementing CSR should not mean to perform additional activities alongside the main business areas in order to improve company's image. The idea of CSR should be combined with the main business area, it supposed to be the integral part of doing business.(author's abstract)
