Contemporary era characterized by global, reinvent, environmental threats arising from the growth of the global economy. This situation also applies to forests, which are among the most threatened natural resources, although their renewable nature. Today's threat to forests must be assessed on the basis of deforestation, new forest damage (Waldsterben), as well as the rise of illegal deforestation, especially in tropical areas. There are numerous environmental threats, among others, deforestation, or new forms of threat to forests as forest dieback (Waldsterben). Many forests are destroyed by illegal logging. According to the degree of anthropogenic impact forests are distinguished as follows: primary (forests), secondary, and finally economic tree plantations; they are threatened in varying degrees. In tropical countries still exists wasteful exploitation of forest; and often illegal logging. The logging is also a major threat to the climate. There is also a new complex theme "forest-energy-climate" as an opportunity to limit the warming of the earth.(original abstract)
