Training Services in a Perspective Of Labour Market Changes - Implications for Poland

The purpose of the article is to analyze the megatrends of economic development in the context of their impact on the global and local training needs crucial for the labour market. Particular attention was directed to socio-economic problems in Poland gradually gaining access to the EU labour market. Representatives of the training industry were also interviewed to define expectations and attitudes of training companies towards local and global labour market changes. Analysis of the megatrends pointed to the necessity of labour market changes, especially in the face of population ageing, which in turn generates demands for new professions and services, including knowledge-intensive services. The interviews with Polish training companies' representatives revealed that many local businesses are not sufficiently aware of the consequences of global changes, and that there is a strong need for improvement and adaptation of local workshops to the global demands. The article structures the challenges facing Polish labour market and training services market. The research conducted among representatives of Polish training companies is an original contribution to the following study of megatrends.(original abstract)
