Artykuł dotyczy kwestii umiejscowienia procesu kreowania kapitału ludzkiego w szeroko rozumianym kontekście społecznym. Oznacza to konieczność zweryfikowania tezy mówiącej o tym, że decyzje inwestycyjne dotyczące zdrowia czy kształcenia są determinowane przede wszystkim chęcią zaspokojenia korzyści ekonomicznych. Artykuł, analizując pojęcie kapitału ludzkiego, zwraca uwagę na potrzebę respektowania powiązań międzyludzkich w procesie dyfuzji wiedzy.(abstrakt oryginalny)

The article concerns the process of creative human capital in the wider social context. This implies verification of the thesis that investment decisions in health or education areas are determined primarily by economic benefits. The article examines the concept of human capital and draws attention to the need of respecting human relations in the process of knowledge diffusion.(original abstract)
