Abstrakty

Artykuł jest poświęcony oddziaływaniu stanu zdrowia na gospodarkę, a przede wszystkim na wzrost gospodarczy. Pierwszym przedstawionym zagadnieniem są społeczno-ekonomiczne determinanty zdrowia, gdyż poziom rozwoju gospodarczego również wpływa na zdrowie jednostek i społeczeństwa. Następnie przedstawiono kanały oddziaływania zdrowia na funkcjonowanie gospodarki zarówno na poziomie mikro, jak i makro. Od strony mikro scharakteryzowano oddziaływanie na produkcyjność pracy i podaż pracy, a także wykształcenie i tworzenie kapitału rzeczowego oraz ludzkiego. Od strony makro przedstawiono rozważania teoretyczne i wyniki wybranych badań empirycznych. W kolejnym punkcie opisano docelową strukturę systemu ochrony zdrowia opartą na nowej konstrukcji trzech koszyków świadczeń gwarantowanych. Na koniec wymieniono najważniejsze wyzwania stojące obecnie przed polskim systemem ochrony zdrowia. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The article discusses the impact of health on the economy, and above all on economic growth. Socio-economic determinants of health are presented first, because the level of economic development affects the health of individuals and society. Then, the channels of influence of health on the functioning of the economy are described at the macro and micro levels. From the micro point of view, the impact on labor productivity and labor supply, as well as education and the creation of physical capital and human capital, is characterized. From the macro point of view, theoretical considerations and the results onf some empirical research are presented. The next section introduces the target structure of the health care system based on a new design of three baskets of guaranteed medical services. At the end, the main challenges currently facing the Polish health care system are mentioned. (original abstract)
