Growing environmental problems, increasing fuel prices and congestion on many road networks require new solutions to transport operations. An integrated multimodal transport network is a useful tool for companies to successfully execute their supply chain processes both domestically and internationally. Multimodal Transport is essentially an international through-transport combination with various modes of transport such as ship, rail, truck, aeroplane, etc., primarily through the use of containers. The main aim of the essay is to identify the role and benefits of Multimodal Transport used in Modern Logistics Supply Chain. The first part of the essay, the theoretical framework of the study, is devoted to clarifying the most important terms used in the essay. The next part is focused on presenting the role of Multimodal Transport in Modern Logistics Chain of Supply. The last part of the essay is the author's conclusions.(original abstract)
