Population prospects and increasing risk of emergence of limits to growth mean that food safety hazards are becoming more realistic. The goal of the study is to find the most important factors influencing the future food security. Until 2050 the demand for food is expected to increase by at least 70%. It is due to growing number of people and rapid changes in developing countries. Forecasts allow the conclusion that it is possible to ensure a sufficient increase in the supply of food that will satisfy the need for additional billion people, and suffering from malnutrition. However, it is associated with the need to increase the focus on sustainable attitude to agriculture and food production. This means the need to implement simultaneously economic, social and environmental aspects of the food economy, i.e., among others, greater trade openness, the growing importance of producers at the expense of intermediaries, increase the social attractiveness of work in agriculture and reducing food waste. These conditions are as important as the fight against climate change (in particular water scarcity and soil erosion) or technological improvement of agricultural productivity. (original abstract)
Oznacza to jednoczesne uwzględnianie gospodarczych, społecznych i środowiskowych aspektów rolnictwa i produkcji rolnej. (abstrakt oryginalny)
