The emergence of the concept of 'entrepreneurial ecosystem' is the result of the application of the metaphor of 'ecosystem' in relation to the problem of entrepreneurship. The use of the concept of 'ecosystem' is considering entrepreneurship in the categories of the coordinated set of elements, constituting a whole, as a set of components constituting a whole conditioned by a logical order of the constituents. The study is the author's reflection on the perspective of perception of entrepreneurship. Its objective is to indicate the sources of the issue, to present the outline of the concept of 'entrepreneurial ecosystem' and also to draw attention to the specificity of the insight into entrepreneurship through the lens of the properties of the complex system.
