The aim of the paper is to identify key topics and trends in research on a sustainable enterprise and a sustainable organization in order to contribute to mapping the research field. The analysis is based on systematic literature review of the core references indexed in the Business, Management and Accounting subject area of the Scopus database. The recognized key research topics in the field include: long-term competitiveness and success, enterprise/organization transformation for sustainability, responsible approach towards employees as internal stakeholders, searching for resource efficiency in the sustainability context and establishing sustainable relationships with external stakeholders in accordance with the triple bottom line philosophy.
