Abstrakty

Artykuł analizuje możliwości i wyzwania związane z nowym typem megaregionalnej współpracy gospodarczej wprowadzonym przez Chiny pod nazwą Nowy Jedwabny Szlak lub Inicjatywa Pasa i Szlaku. Wycofanie się Stanów Zjednoczonych z Partnerstwa Transpacyficznego (TPP) oraz zawieszenie negocjacji dotyczących Transatlantyckiego Partnerstwa w dziedzinie Handlu i Inwestycji, jak też nowa polityka zadeklarowana przez prezydenta USA - Donalda Trumpa, stworzyły doskonałe warunki Chinom dla gładkiego przejęcia przywództwa na kontynencie azjatyckim, a może i w całym świecie. Może to oznaczać, że USA i Europa mogą przestać być punktem odniesienia dla wszelkich standardów, pozostawiając pole dla Chin. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The article explores opportunities and challenges associated with the new type of megaregional economic cooperation introduced by China as a New Silk Road or the Belt and Road Initiative. The withdrawal of the US from Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and suspending negotiations within the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) as well as the new policy declared by the President of the USA - Donald Trump has created perfect conditions for China to smoothly overtake leadership in the Asian continent, if not in the whole world. It may mean that the US and Europe may become rather "standard takers" than "standard makers", giving a field to China. (original abstract)
