Abstrakty

W Europie i w wielu innych wysoko rozwiniętych krajach w ostatnich latach zyskuje na popularności koncepcja rozwoju zrównoważonego (sustainable development), w ramach której coraz większą rolę i znaczenie przypisuje się konieczności osiągania nie tylko korzystnych, długoterminowo utrzymujących się wartości makroekonomicznych (takich jak np. PKB), ale coraz bardziej zwraca się uwagę na aspekty społeczne, niwelowanie dysproporcji rozwojowych w ujęciu regionalnym czy uzyskiwanie międzypokoleniowej sprawiedliwości. Koncepcja zrównoważonego rozwoju eksponuje ponadto potrzebę dbałości o środowisko naturalne i możliwości korzystania z zasobów naturalnych przez następne pokolenia społeczeństwa, które dążyć będą do uzyskania coraz wyższych dochodów, poprawy dobrobytu poprzez utrzymywanie wysokiego wzrostu gospodarczego i dzielenie się z uzyskiwanych dodatnich wartości.(fragment tekstu)

This article presents the concept of sustainable development that is defined as a tool leading not only to economic growth, but in the long run also to elimination of the disproportions within a society. In this context, private and public institutions act to help foster social and economic inclusion of all existing social groups, as well as maintain safety in terms of environmental protection (such practices are known as inclusive growth). In this publication, the authors are focusing on the importance of finance in the concept of sustainable development. The authors argue that the financial system (financial institutions, financial markets and avoidable regulations) plays a key role in the realization of goals of sustainable development.(original abstract)
