Abstrakty

Celem artykułu jest analiza zmian wykorzystania euro jako waluty rezerwowej funkcjonującej w międzynarodowym systemie monetarnym w latach 2005-2016. Szczególny nacisk kładzie się na porównanie zmian znaczenia euro i dolara amerykańskiego. Istotnym elementem artykułu jest takŜe prezentacja głównych czynników determinujących umiędzynarodowienie walut krajowych. Podstawowe metody badawcze wykorzystane w artykule to studia literatury światowej oraz analiza danych statystycznych. Podstawowymi źródłami danych statystycznych są publikacje EBC i MFW. The aim of this paper is to analyze changes in the use of the euro as a reserve currency in the international monetary system in the years 2005-2016. Particular emphasis is placed on comparing changes in the meaning of the euro and the US dollar. An important element of the article is also the presentation of the main determinants of the internationalization of national currencies. The paper is based on the international literature and statistical data. The main sources of necessary data were taken from publications delivered by ECB and IMF. (original abstract)
