Abstrakty

Artykuł podejmuje problematykę rozwoju miast w kontekście powiązań tych jednostek osadniczych z obszarami bezpośrednio je otaczającymi, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem roli terenów podmiejskich, wykształcającej się podczas procesów suburbanizacji. Na podstawie literatury przedmiotu analizie poddane zostały funkcje obszarów podmiejskich, jakie pojawiają się w trakcie zachodzących procesów urbanizacji, co pozwoliło na wskazanie specyfiki współczesnej strefy podmiejskiej. The article deals with the problems of urban development in the context of links between cities and their surrounding areas, with a particular emphasis on the role of suburban areas in suburbanization. Based on the literature of the subject, the functions of suburban areas, which appear during the processes of urbanization, have been analyzed thoroughly, which allowed the author to indicate the specificity of the present suburban zone.
