Doznania pozwalały zdobyć określony poziom wiedzy o sobie samym, a wiedza usługodawców (organizatorów, przewodników) podnosiła jakość przeżyć. (abstrakt oryginalny)

Behaviour of active sport tourists is specific. Experience - in reference to experience economy 3.0 - leading to participants' transformation is the core of tourism product. Empirical data are results of a questionnaire-based survey conducted with participants of the North Pole Marathon 2016. Due to not a big sample, it is a case study. Results confirm that participants of NPM2016 are serious tourists. Contact with the Arctic nature was the most important experience. It was a unique, adventurous and once in a life time experience for respondents. They felt that they and their companions co-created experience. Experiences allow active sport tourists get knowledge about themselves. On the other hand, knowledge of service providers (organisers, guides) influences the quality of experience.
