Abstrakty

Hipoteza o wystąpieniu sekularnej stagnacji w gospodarkach krajów wysoko rozwiniętych (i idące za nią modelowe objaśnienie jej przyczyn) jest jedną z najbardziej interesujących koncepcji teoretycznych, które pojawiły się w ostatnich latach w reakcji na światowy kryzys gospodarczy. Koncepcja ta jest próbą interpretacji równoległego przejawiania się dwu długookresowych tendencji: spadku realnych stóp procentowych oraz spowolnienia tempa wzrostu PKB. W artykule przedstawiono dwa główne podejścia do teoretycznego uzasadnienia występowania tej tendencji - popytowe i podażowe. To rozróżnienie jest ważne, gdyż z każdego z nich mogą wynikać inne zalecenia co do kształtu polityki gospodarczej przeciwdziałającej temu zjawisku. Podjęto także próbę spojrzenia - w kontekście hipotezy o sekularnej stagnacji - na sytuację gospodarki polskiej.(abstrakt oryginalny)

The hypothesis about the occurrence of secular stagnation in developed economies and the model explanation of its causes is one of the most interesting theoretical concepts that have emerged in recent years in response to the global economic crisis. It attempts to interpret the parallel occurrence of two long-term trends: a decline in real interest rates and a slowdown in GDP growth. The article presents two main approaches to the theoretical justification of this trend - from the demand and supply sides. This distinction is important, because each of them may result in other recommendations as to the shape of economic policy addressing this phenomenon. An attempt was also made to look at the state of the Polish economy through the lens of the secular stagnation hypothesis.(original abstract)
