Security has now become the basic criterion for the functioning of enterprises. It is usually the main criterion determining our choices. It is particularly important in reference to the service generating dominant losses in the area of human health in comparison to other types of services - Transport. Depending on the implementation status of safety ma- nagement in particular types of transport (cumulatively: air, rail, water and road), it is based on more or less advanced tools, especially in the field of risk management. The legal require- ments and good practices in the field of detection of hazard sources used in transport are as perfect as it is to anticipate real risks and estimate their possible consequences. At present, there is no integrated system allowing for operative and effective risk manage- ment at the operational level, and consequently for carrying out transport operations while eliminating unacceptable risks. Transport safety management is, in most cases, still based on reactive risk management methods based on historical data on adverse events. There are no methods, procedures and models to enable a proactive and predictive approach to risk management. The publication proposes a model for the selection of sources of hazards identified in transport, and thus predictive identification of hazard areas together with a proposal for a common risk assessment method.
