The aim of this paper is to analyze how globalization affects the rise of identity politics in various parts of the world. It is argued that among other outcomes, economic globalization and the expansion of the neo-liberal system aggravated economic inequalities. The resistance to globalization, which has been called 'post -globalization' is characterized by anti-internationalization and anti-immigration sentiments as well as stronger attachment to national and other forms of identities. Finally, the concepts of the inclusive forms of identities, which are based on values and ideas are discussed in the paper.(original abstract)
