The paper investigates the links between cultural dimensions and environmental performance at a national level, aiming to identify key aspects of this relationship, including information that could be useful for further research regarding a potential causal relation and that may enable a more effective and efficient culturally-adapted public policy design and implementation process. The research employs a quantitative methodological approach and uses data resulting from Hofstede's cultural model and the 2018 Environmental Performance Index as inputs, finding evidence supporting the hypothesis of a relevant influence operating between the cultural dimension of individualism (as cause) and environmental performance (as effect).
