EN

The circumpolar region experienced accelerated economic growth in the first decade of the 21st century. To foster the sustainable development, which includes economic growth, environmental protection and social development in the Arctic region, the AC decided in 2013 to strengthen the economic dimension of Arctic cooperation by developing its interactions with the growing and more and more vibrant circumpolar business community in an institutional manner. The aim of this article is to analyse this process and to consider the significance of its results. The Arctic Economic Council composition and function are reconsidered. (original abstract)

Zmiany zachodzące w regionie Arktyki coraz silniej wspierają aktywność sektora prywatnego w tej części świata. W nowej sytuacji coraz wyraźniej dostrzec można konieczność włączenia przedstawicieli biznesu do współpracy z Radą Arktyczną. Artykuł przedstawia analizę powstania, składu oraz funkcji powstałej w 2014 roku Arktycznej Rady Ekonomicznej oraz wskazuje na jej słabe strony. (abstrakt oryginalny)
