The aim of the article is to analyse the role of Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) is an overall political forum for regional intergovernmental cooperation working on three priority areas: regional identity, safe & secure region and sustainable & prosperous region. The three priority areas address the themes of environment, economic development, entrepreneurship, education, culture, civil security, children's rights and trafficking in human beings. Celem artykułu jest analiza roli oraz miejsca , jaka pełni Rada Państw Morza Bałtyckiego w przestrzeni politycznej na rzecz międzynarodowej współpracy w trzech priorytetowych obszarach: regionalnej tożsamości, bezpieczeństwa, oraz zrównoważonego rozwijającego się regionu bałtyckiego. Te trzy obszary koncentrują swoje działania na środowisku, rozwoju gospodarczym, edukacji, kulturze, bezpieczeństwie, ochronie praw dzieci. (abstrakt oryginalny)
