Abstrakty

W artykule zaprezentowano zmiany aktywności banków centralnych krajów rozwiniętych na rynku złota w ramach porozumień banków centralnych w sprawie złota (Central Banks Gold Agreements) ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem motywów tych decyzji. Szczególny nacisk położono na analizę wpływu omawianych porozumień na zmiany wysokości rezerw złota w krajach rozwiniętych i rozwijających się zarówno w ujęciu nominalnym (ilość ton), jak i jako procent aktywów rezerwowych. Porozumienia spowodowały spadek rezerw złota w bankach centralnych krajów rozwiniętych, jednak ze względu na wzrost cen złota jego udział w sumie aktywów rezerwowych w przypadku wielu krajów wzrósł. Podstawowe metody badawcze wykorzystane w artykule to studia literatury światowej oraz analiza danych statystycznych. Podstawowymi źródłami danych statystycznych były publikacje Światowej Rady Złota i Europejskiego Banku Centralnego. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The article presents changes in the activity of central banks of developed countries on the gold market under the Central Banks Gold Agreements, with special emphasis on the motives for these decisions. Particular stress was put on analyzing the impact of the discussed agreements on changes in the amount of gold reserves in developed and developing countries, both in nominal terms (the number of tonnes) and as a percentage of reserve assets. The agreements caused a decrease in gold reserves in the central banks of developed countries, however, due to the increase in gold prices, its share in the total reserve assets increased in many countries. The main research methods used in the article are studies of world literature and statistical data analysis. The basic sources of statistical data were the publications of the World Gold Council and the European Central Bank. (original abstract)
