Spółdzielczość a polityka Unii Europejskiej w okresie kryzysu finansowego i gospodarczego

Abstrakty

Podstawowym celem artykułu jest analiza funkcjonowania sektora spółdzielczego w państwach członkowskich Unii Europejskiej w okresie spowolnienia gospodarczego. W artykule wykazano, że spółdzielnie są ważnym elementem krajobrazu gospodarczego w większości państw Europy Zachodniej, a ich funkcjonowanie sprzyja utrzymaniu zatrudnienia i stabilizacji sytuacji gospodarczej. Wynika to z odmiennej reakcji sektora spółdzielczego na negatywne szoki zewnętrzne (skutkujące spadkiem popytu na oferowane dobra i usługi) w porównaniu z przedsiębiorstwami prywatnymi. W artykule przedstawiono kilka wniosków na temat funkcjonowania sektora bankowości spółdzielczej w okresie kryzysu, a także sformułowano argumenty za uwzględnieniem spółdzielni w podręcznikach do nauki ekonomii.(abstrakt oryginalny)

The primary objective of this paper is to analyze the functioning of the cooperative sector in the EU member states during the economic slowdown. The article shows, that cooperatives are an important element of the economic landscape in most countries of Western Europe, and the functioning of the cooperative sector in times of crisis is likely to maintain employment and economic stability. This results from different reactions of the cooperative sector to negative external shocks (resulting in the decline of demand for offered goods and services) in comparison with private companies. The article presents a number of proposals on the functioning of the co-operative banking sector during the crisis, and formulates arguments for the inclusion of cooperative problematic into economic science textbooks.
