The article focuses on the requirements and procedures for obtaining a professional engineering license in the United States (USA) and in Canada. The rights, privileges and responsibilities from being registered as a professional engineer are also discussed. The paper also provides information on engineering ethics and the liabilities that are associated with engineering projects. The occasional need to be registered simultaneously in more than one state or province are also discussed.(original abstract)
