Abstrakty
A successive publication concerned with the continuously current topic of pathological and dysfunctional behavior in the organization has made its appearance on the publishing market. In what way is this publication different from others taking a look at the subject? The authors themselves indicate that they use the two concepts interchangeably and clearly differentiate between pathologies and dysfunctions, and employee error, which is often committed unintentionally. For this reason their ethical assessment is different from what is done in the case of premeditation. Both types of behavior can result in similar negative effects-for the individual, group, and organization-but intentionality plays a different role in their appearance. The authors have assigned themselves the goal of "systematizing knowledge on the most frequently seen pathologies and dysfunctions" (p. 13). They base this effort on an overview of Polish and foreign topical literature. They have striven to apply a holistic approach to these phenomena, benefiting from the achievements of sciences investigating management and quality, psychology and sociology, and their own questionnaire-based research. However, the book is more than just an overview of scientific and research output. Much consideration is given to human nature and the individual qualities of employees that become the source of pathological phenomena in the workplace. (fragment of text)
