This study analyzes the impact of leadership style characteristics such as idealized influence-charisma, inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, intellectual stimulation, contingent reward and management by exception on project success in project- based organizations. This paper argues that these factors simultaneously, in different configurations, affect project success. The data for the empirical analysis come from a survey of 17 cases - Polish consultancies. This study employs a configurational approach, using fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fs/QCA), to assess the different combinations of mentioned factors. (original abstract)
