Abstrakty
In every field of human endeavor there are people who have a significant impact on its development and the fate of people tied to those fields. Prof. Alicja Sajkiewicz was just such a person in the discipline of human resource management. The discipline of HRM was initially cultivated under the name of "economics and work organization." It is in this area that the scientific and research achievements of Prof. Alicja Sajkiewicz developed, starting with her master's and doctoral theses under the supervision of the late Prof. Jan Kordaszewski of the SGPiS (presently the SGH Warsaw School of Economics). Many publications authored by Prof. Alicja Sajkiewicz were devoted to these issues, including her post-doctoral thesis: "Relacja produkcji, pracochłonności, funduszu płac robotników w przedsiębiorstwie przemysłowym" [Production, labor intensity, and worker wage fund relations in industrial enterprises] completed in 1969. A quality distinguishing the publications of Prof. Alicja Sajkiewicz was the combining of economic and organizational aspects within the framework of the discipline-e.g., Ekonomika i organizacja pracy [Economics and work organization], published in 1978 and 1980 as well as in subsequent editions. Of major value in the development of the discipline was the monograph Harmonizacja pracy: czynniki społeczne, ekonomiczne i organizacyjne [Harmonizing work: Social, economic, and organizational factors] from 1986. This was the first book published in Poland that looked into questions of work on a micro-economic scale in such a comprehensive manner. (fragment of text)
