Abstrakty

Rosnąca stale od trzydziestu lat popularność poszukiwania informacji o swoich przodkach spowodowała pojawienie się nowego rodzaju turystyki, zauważonego przez literaturę naukową dopiero na początku obecnego stulecia. Turyści genealogiczni podejmują podróże z jednej strony do archiwów i bibliotek, a z drugiej - do miejsc związanych z ich antenatami. Szczególnie ten drugi kierunek należy uznać za zasadniczo odmienny od tradycyjnej turystyki, nie ogranicza się bowiem do miejsc atrakcyjnych. Ten typ turystów kieruje się zupełnie innymi motywacjami, bliższymi rytuałowi pielgrzymki, ale w przeciwieństwie do pątników zmierzają do miejsc mających bardzo zindywidualizowany symboliczny sens. Standardowe kierunki wspomagania rozwoju turystyki przez państwo i przemysł turystyczny nie mają w tym przypadku zastosowania i konieczne jest wypracowanie nowych metod marketingu. Growing popularity of searching for information about ancestors, which continues for the last thirty years, resulted in the appearance of a new kind of tourism, noticed by professional literature only at the beginning of the current century. Genealogical tourists take trips to archives and libraries, on the one hand, and on the other - to places connected with their ancestors. The second direction should be especially recognized as being a lot different from traditional tourism, as it does not limit itself o places which are attractive. These tourists have very different motivation, closer to the pilgrimage ritual but, unlike pilgrims, they head to places which have a very individualized symbolic meaning. Standard ways of supporting tourism development by the government and by tourist industry do not apply here and new marketing methods must be worked out. (original abstract)
