The scientific researches in the field of gastronomic tourism are analyzed, Western scientists' research subject peculiarities are revealed in the article. The factors influencing development of this kind of tourism in the world are studied. The author's definition of gastronomic tourism and gastronomic potential is introduced. An expeditionary study of the Right Bank Polissia territory within the physical and geographical regions of Volyn Polissia, Zhytomyr Polissia and part of Kyiv Polissia on the right bank of the Dnieper River is carried out. Artykuł przedstawia analizę badań naukowych na polu turystyki gastronomicznej oraz specyfikę tematów badawczych zachodnich naukowców. Zaprezentowano studium czynników wpływających na rozwój tej dziedziny turystyki na świecie. Autor wprowadza definicję turystyki gastronomicznej oraz potencjału gastronomicznego. Prowadzone są ekspedycyjne badania obszaru prawobrzeżnego Polesia w obrębie fizyczno-geograficznych regionów Polesia Wołyńskiego, Żytomierskiego i części Polesia Kijowskiego na prawym brzegu Dniepru.
