The article concerns the benefits of using the interorganizational ties management for building the agile knowledge based organization. The starting point of this paper is a presentation of trends arising in the contemporary environment that pose high demands on organizations to adapt to the rapidly changing market conditions. The success in implementing the agile knowledge based organization model is dependent on a constant observation of the environment and an ability to detect opportunities and threats emerging from it. The precondition of succeeding in applying this strategy is the access to the latest and adequate information. These resources are in the possession of various subjects on the market and accessing them requires cooperation and openness to knowledge sharing. It might be helpful to use the networks of interorganizational ties and the mechanisms governing their functioning in the exchange process of these exquisitely valuable resources.(original abstract)
