Abstrakty

Artykuł ma na celu przybliżenie tematyki współczesnego żydowskiego ekstremizmu na przykładzie organizacji Lehawa, której pełna nazwa brzmi Przeciwko Asymilacji w Ziemi Świętej. Jest to także próba skonfrontowania się z tezą Amiego Pedahzura, która mówi, że kahanizm jest ideologią wciąż funkcjonującą w izraelskim społeczeństwie i łączy dzięki sobie skrajne ugrupowania i organizacje na peryferiach. Autor artykułu stawia także tezę, iż zadania Lehawy wpisane w statut są jedynie fasadą i mają służyć legitymizacji dla agresywnych działań i promowania ideologii rabina Meira Kahane. W pracy zostały wykorzystane materiały umieszczone na oficjalnej stronie internetowej Lehawy, reportaże izraelskiej telewizji dotyczące organizacji znalezione w internecie, wypowiedzi członków Lehawy oraz artykuły prasowe opisujące przykłady działalności. Analiza tych materiałów oraz porównanie ich z postulatami Meira Kahane pozwoliły uznać Lehawę za organizację ekstremistyczną, propagującą ksenofobiczne, rasistowskie i nacjonalistyczne hasła wymierzone w społeczność arabską i inne mniejszości. Organizacja stworzyła również sieć powiązań mogących być zagrożeniem dla porządku wewnętrznego (abstrakt oryginalny)

The aim of this article is to analyze modern Jewish extremism through the example of the Lehava organization, whose full name is Prevention of Assimilation in the Holy Land. It also attempts to test Ami Pedahzur's thesis, which claims that Kahanism in Israel is still alive as an ideology within Israeli society and links together extremist formations and organizations from the peripheries of that society. Working on the hypothesis that Lehava's actions and aims are only a facade which justifies violence and Meir Kahane's ideology, the article critically scrutinizes how Lehava acts and how it builds its impact. It also examines the impact of Lehava on the Israeli-Palestinan conflict. Applying desk research methodology, the author used Hebrew-language materials from the official website of Lehava, documentaries about the organization made by Israeli television, statements of Lehava's members and press articles which describe the organization's actions. Analysis of the foregoing materials and comparison with Kahane's ideology shows that Lehava is an extremist organization. It promotes xenophobia, racism and nationalism, which is directed against Arab society and other minorities in Israel. The organization has also created a wide network of contacts which can be dangerous for the state and society.(original abstract)
