W artykule przedstawiono skalę wykorzystania siarki jako materiału podstawowego dla współczesnego przemysłu chemicznego.

The article presents the scale of utilization of sulphur as the basic material for the contemporary chemical industry; it also presents the prospects of the demamd for sulphur in the years to come. This is the starting point for the considerations concerning the choice of the variety and means of transportation of Polish sulphur in international turnover of this raw material. Comparing the advantages and the shortcomings of crushed and liquid sulphur allows for a thesis to be put forward about the necessity of increasing the proportion of liquid sulphur in export. This is favoured not only by economic reasons, but also by the requirements of the natural environment protection. However, the lack of an adequate number of tanks - cisterns is the bottleneck which makes greater exportation of liqnid sulphur from Poland impossible. Consequently, one should expect a drop of the export of liquid sulphur in the years to come. In order to improve the profitability of sulphur export it would be advisable to increase another variety of this raw material, that is confectionate sulphur which is also preferred at the world's markets.(original abstract)
