The present article is an estimation of changes which have taken place in the East-Central region. Against the background of general economic conditions of the development of the macroregion, on the one hand outlays for the development of dwelling house building have been presented on which its size depends to a large extent, and on the other, the paper shows effects of this building. In order to estimate changes of the housing situation of the investigated macro-region, the authors made use of the indices of qualitative and quantitative character which appear in references. Such indices as: number of flats, the average number of the flats built per 1.000 contracted marriages, intensity of dwelling house building, number of households' per 100 flats, and density of population, allowed for the estimation of quantitative aspects of the housing situation. On the other hand, the qualitative indices concern first of all household appliances, especially the basic installation such as water-supply, W. C., bathrooms, network gas system, and central heating. Analyzing the level of expenditures for the development of dwelling house building in total outlays in the investigated macro-region, it has been stated that jin this respect this level is on the middle position in the country. On the other hand, the effect of this building and the estimation of the existing housing substance are unfavourable for the macro-region and they depart significantly from the average level in the country.(original abstract)
