The work concerns a comparative analysis of the indicators used to estimate the level of plant production and their connection with the quality of the natural- -soil environment. The work views five indicators and these are the following: y₁ - plant production in corn units (IZ) from one hectare of arable land;y₂ - plant production from ploughland and perennial green lands in JZ/ha;y₃ - plant production from ploughlands in JZ/ha;y₄ - conversion yield from ploughlands in JZ/ha;y₄ - conversion yield in corn units (including cereals, potatoes and sugar beets;y₅ - the yield of four cereals in dt/ha. The analysis showed that the first two of the indicators above (y₁ and y₂) show the level of plant production synthetically and they are fully comparable as regards the sectors of agriculture, voivodships and years. The third indicators (y₃) showed similar characteristics, while the last two (y₄ and y₅) as compared with the former ones did not fully reflect the level of plant production and so they are not precise measures of effectiveness on the scale of the voivodship. All the indicators were positively correlated with the quality of the environment, but the closeness of correlative relations was not high enough to allow for stating that natural-soil conditions determined the obtained level of plant production in an essential way.(original abstract)
