The aim of the paper was to analyze the formation of the level of indirect costs burdening the production of broiler chicken depending on the basis of division. The output data were collected from 14 farms localized in cooperative properties of the Lublin region between 1976 and 1978. A tabular descriptive method was used in the paper. In order to calculate indirect costs in investigated object and years the adopted basis of the division was provided by the following: material costs, direct costs and the value of the final gross production, while in order to divide the yearly sums of these costs into particular production cycles, a combined key was worked out and it was a numerical ratio of chicks and of the period of fattening. On the basis of the analysis it turned out that because of specific features of the production of broiler chicken it seems purposeful to accept the material costs (as the basis of the division) to calculate indirect costs. On the other hand, it is justified to use the key to calculate these costs in individual portions since the adopted value presents potential productive posibilities of the farm.(original abstract)
