Ostatni roczny raport firmy Capgemini o ludziach bogatych i super bogatych na całym świecie podał informację, że liczba milionerów w Belgii wzrosła w z 82 000 (w roku 2013) osób do 94 500 (w roku 2014), odnotowując roczny przyrost o 12 500 osób (innymi słowami liczba milionerów w Belgii w ciągu roku wzrosła o 14% podczas gdy w całej w całej Europie "tylko" o 12,5% w skali roku)1. Mimo, że w chwili powstawania tego tekstu nie były jeszcze opublikowane dane z roku 2014 roku, z wielką pewnością można powiedzieć, że liczba milionerów w Belgii przekroczy 100 tys. osób. Oznacza to, że prawie każdy setny Belg będzie milionerem. Jest to dobra okazja bardziej uważnie przejrzeć się światu bogaczy w Belgii. (abstrakt oryginalny)

Belgium is a small kingdom on the western edge of Europe, which was officially proclaimed as the most rich country in Europe (according with the EuroStat data - basing on the GDP per capita in 2013). At the same time this is not only a result of the GDP data - this is a result of the great community of the rich persons (which are called "richards" - combination of the two words - rich and the popular name Richard). The estimation shows - now there are more than 100 000 persons in Belgium who posseses over 1 million USD of actives, called in the international economic terminology HNWI- High Net Walue Individuals. In Belgium, as in each European and not only European countries, these persons are distributed on the territory in not regular way. Usually the biggest number of HNWI is concentrated in the capital of the country. But Belgium is evenement from this point of view. The most of them live on the north of the country (in Flanders) and in the small cities with a very good communication with Brussels and sea ports. In Belgium there are no popular in the USA rankings of the rich and super-rich persons, Belgian "big money" especially do not like publicity. Investing their money very carefully Belgian HNWI become more and more numerous and more and more rich, concentrating now in their hand about 60% of the national worth. This is a part of the global process of the deep diversification of the society, but at the same time this case has a lot of spatial and economic specificy presented in the article of S.Matjunin.
