EN

The spread of the phenomenon, commonly known as information society (IS), is a cause that there is a demand for statistics and analysis which support and form the regional and national policies in this matter. Many international organisations, including the European Union and the International Telecommunication Union, made an effort to systematise a wide range of IS aspects. The result of their actions is known as key indicators lists. They present the most recent expert opinions concerning the complexity of information society. In the article an attempt to reduce the number of such key indicators is made. It is done in order to use them in composite index construction to measure the level of information society development. Ciągły rozwój społeczeństwa informacyjnego obserwowany w ostatnich latach spowodował, że pojawiło się zapotrzebowanie na statystyki oraz analizy wspierające i kształtujące politykę regionalną i państwową w tym obszarze. Wiele organizacji międzynarodowych, a wśród nich Unia Europejska oraz Międzynarodowy Związek Telekomunikacyjny, podjęło się zadania usystematyzowania szerokiego spektrum aspektów społeczeństwa informacyjnego. Wynikiem ich działań są powszechnie dostępne listy tzw. wskaźników kluczowych podsumowujących najnowsze ustalenia ekspertów w kwestii tak złożonej kategorii jaką jest SI. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań mających na celu próbę ograniczenia liczebności dostępnych zestawień wskaźników kluczowych, pod kątem ich doboru do konstrukcji miary agregatowej służącej do pomiaru stopnia rozwoju społeczeństwa informacyjnego.
