The works on the amendment to the Insurance bills approved by the Parliament on May 23rd 2003 were commenced as early as in May 2004. Pursuant to the arrangements madę with the Minister of Finance PIU prepared the proposals of necessary amendments to be introduced into the regulations which had been con- sidered to be defective or impossible to be madę use of in practice. Proposals of the amendments have been worked out on the basis of opinions and remarks transmitted by insurers and by the committees acting within the Chambers structure. In September last year the governmental project of amendments of these bills was taken under consideration by the Parliament which approved the amendments concerning the Insurance law, compulsory insurance law, UFG (insurance guarantee funds) and PBUK (Polish Bureau of Motor Insurers) and the law dealing with insurance and pension supervising and insurance ombudsman, on July 8th 2005(original abstract)
